On March 14 of this year, a seminar on the topic “Protect yourself from HIV infection” was held for military personnel of military units No.

 54179 and No. 86621 in the village of Shengeldy, Konaev. In order to provide participants with reliable information about HIV prevention, lectures were given by doctors epidemiologists of the department of preventive work of the Almaty Regional AIDS Center L. Tanabaeva and I. Sagyngeldy.

Employees of military units were told in detail about the routes of infection, damage to health, and methods of protection against HIV infection. HIV prevention measures and personal hygiene were explained. These include the following: live a healthy life, beware of engaging in sexual relations with casual and commercial partners (the more sexual partners, the greater the risk of HIV infection), the use of disposable instruments for personal hygiene.

In addition, about 1,262 informational and explanatory tools were distributed on how to lead a healthy lifestyle, be responsible for one’s health, keep raising children in the spotlight, strive to be an example for teenagers, and avoid drug addiction and bad habits. 755 military personnel were covered.
