To prevent HIV among schoolchildren

On March 12, 2024, on the basis of a joint action plan of the Shielinsky branch of the Kyzylorda Regional Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS and the district department of education in order to prevent HIV and promote a healthy lifestyle in the village of Y. Zhakhaev, a meeting was organized for high school students of secondary school No. 149 named after A. Montaev on the topic “To protect everyone’s health, protect everyone’s rights.”

The main goal of the event is to prevent HIV infection, develop responsible behavior among young people and draw attention to the problems of people living with HIV, prevent discrimination, eliminate factors that affect the vulnerability of people living with HIV and impede access to medical services.

During the meeting, assistant epidemiologist of the Shieli branch of the AIDS Center B. Parmankulov presented information about the epidemiological situation of HIV infection in the republic, region and HIV prevention measures, and also explained to everyone how everyone should protect themselves from infection. The reports on the topic “Formation of safe behavior in schoolchildren for HIV prevention” and “HIV in society and family” received a good reaction from the audience.

During the event, students were given answers to questions. Everyone received information booklets.
