Events dedicated to World AIDS Day ended in Nur-Sultan

From November 16 to 22, 2020 in the city Nur-Sultan, events were held to mark World AIDS Day, under the slogan "Global Solidarity, Shared Responsibility".

 

As part of this action, the AIDS Center carried out several significant events that had an impact on the prevention work among the population on HIV infection. An essay competition was held among pupils and students of the city's colleges on the theme: "My attitude to HIV-positive people", among students of the Kazakh National University of Arts, a video competition was held on the theme: "Art against HIV." During this week, valuable gifts were awarded to representatives of the media, who actively covered the issues of HIV infection. Director of the AIDS Center S. Abdraimov together with the UNAIDS special envoy to Kazakhstan "Sport against HIV" B. Artayev took part in a live broadcast on the radio "Orda FM". The staff of the AIDS Center held informational meetings with the population, and a speech was also held at the TV-studio of the NCPH with the Deputy Director of the AIDS Center S. Musina.

 

The action was attended by representatives of nongovernmental organizations, such as PF International Center «Zhariya», PF «Zhizn vopreki» and PF «Shag v budushee», who supported the challenge “My contribution to HIV prevention” and showed their work in the videos “One day in the life of an outreach worker ”.

At the end of the action, grocery bags were distributed to people living with HIV and registered at the AIDS Center, which was a huge support during the quarantine period.
