To improve preventive work with adolescents

 To carry out more interesting and effective HIV prevention work among students, a working meeting with the directors and deputies for educational work of secondary schools in Aktau was held on February 7 at the Mangystau Regional HIV Prevention Center.

          The event was held by the head of the Department of Prevention and Epidemiological surveillance of HIV infection A. Kemazanova and epidemiologist A. Maratova.

          The Mangystau Regional HIV Prevention Center organizes seminars and trainings for specialists of educational institutions on a regular basis.  In comparison with the previous year, there has been a decrease in the registration of new cases among adolescents aged 15-19 years.  HIV prevention work in schools in the region is particularly relevant.

          At the workshop, doctors told about the HIV surveillance in the Mangystau region, including among adolescents aged 15-19 years. The participants discussed the format of seminars to effectively inform students.

          The number of participants in the meeting was 26. The event ended with a survey.
