On November 21, in Astana, as part of the visit of the Senior Portfolio Manager of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Tatiana Vinichenko, a meeting was held with the head of the WHO country office, Dr. S. Syla.

The meeting was attended by: David Kokiashvili, a specialist in public health and monitoring and evaluation of the Global Fund, Bauyrzhan Baiserkin, Director of the Kazakh Scientific Center for Dermatology and Infectious Diseases of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Tatiana Davletgalieva, Manager of the GF HIV Project Implementation Group, Rysaldy Demeuova, coordinator of the CCM secretariat.
During the meeting, the issues of the epidemiological situation of HIV infection in Kazakhstan and the impact of new psychoactive substances on the spread of HIV, especially among young people, were discussed. In addition, Dr. S.Syla noted the importance and readiness of Kazakhstan to introduce a new algorithm for HIV testing.

- One of the three "95" goals of UNAIDS "to end HIV by 2030" is to expand testing – the sooner a person learns his HIV status, the sooner he will be able to receive treatment and prevent infection among close people," Bauyrzhan Bayserkin said.

- That is why, within the framework of a new grant from the Global Fund, "fast" (saliva) tests will be purchased for self-testing with the ability to order a test at a convenient time and place, testing on the basis of NGOs, in the field, points of trust and friendly offices," said Tatiana Vinichenko.
