At an online meeting with employees of regional HIV prevention centers on December 24, a draft of a new HIV testing algorithm was discussed.
The day before, the CDC received proposals from the staff of the regional HIV centers to improve the draft document. The participants discussed them in detail, focusing on increasing the coverage of testing to increase the early detection of HIV infection.
As you know, in the country today, HIV testing can be done in the laboratory, by express methods, as well as by self-testing. You can find out your HIV status by taking an analysis at the clinic at the place of attachment, an HIV center or an NGO. For citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, HIV testing is carried out on a voluntary and free basis, anonymously if desired. The laboratories of the centers are equipped with the most modern equipment for high-quality, reliable testing. At the meeting, the participants discussed the need for a phased replacement of equipment in the laboratories of regional HIV prevention centers.
To create an effective draft of a new HIV testing algorithm, a working group will be created from among the staff of the CDC and regional HIV centers.
