Happy Independence Day of Kazakhstan!

Independence Day of Kazakhstan is the main state holiday of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This date is celebrated in Kazakhstan annually on December 16.

The date for the "Independence Day of Kazakhstan" was not chosen by chance. On December 16, 1991, the Supreme Council of Kazakhstan adopted the law on the Independence and State sovereignty of the Republic.

Independence is the highest asset, we all have to protect it like the apple of our eye.

Today, large-scale political and economic reforms have been launched in the country, and we have entered a new stage of modernization of the country. The success of these endeavors depends on each of us.

The joint effective activities of State, international and non-governmental organizations of the country illustrate their effectiveness in combating HIV. For the first time in Kazakhstan, there has been a tendency to reduce the detection of new cases of HIV infection. Over the past five years, as a result of the measures taken, there has been a decrease in important indicators, such as: AIDS mortality and morbidity per 100,000 population. More than 10% of the population is tested in the country every year. Prices for antiretroviral drugs have decreased 2-40 times in five years. All 12 directions of preventive programs recommended by WHO have been implemented in the Republic of Kazakhstan. As part of the implementation of the goal of the UN Political Declaration of 2021 and the goals of UNAIDS 95-95-95 in Kazakhstan, 87 percent of people living with HIV are aware of their HIV status, 87 of them are taking antiretroviral therapy, 88 percent have a reduced viral load.

For every citizen of independent Kazakhstan, Independence Day embodies all the brightest dreams of freedom and prosperity, friendship, harmony, progressive development of all spheres of life of the Kazakh society.
