VII scientific and practical conference with international participation

On December 8, the VII scientific and practical conference with international participation "HIV-23. HIV infection and syndemia. VAART is an important factor in suppressing HIV progression and preventing multicomorbidity."

 The organizer of the event, the NGO "Association for the Study of HIV Infection", invited more than 500 specialists from government and international organizations, doctors, scientists, and representatives of public organizations to the discussion.

Plenary sessions and satellite forums were organized online and offline with the participation of HIV specialists from leading research centers and universities in Kazakhstan, CIS and far abroad countries.

Opening the conference, the director of the KNCDIZ B. Baiserkin noted:

- The conference has already become a popular platform for discussing achievements and challenges related to HIV. The purpose of the conference is to provide specialized specialists with the latest achievements of HIV medicine in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of HIV infection, providing a high level of medical care to people living with HIV in the face of new global challenges.

The participants got acquainted with HIV surveillance in Kazakhstan and the EECA countries, the effectiveness of ART in Kazakhstan and innovations in the world, self-testing in the country, improving the quality of medical care for PLHIV with the involvement of the civil sector.

Important topics of discussion were "Pregnancy and HIV", "Integrated remote medical and social services for adolescents and young people with HIV", "Chronic viral hepatitis B and C: interaction with HIV" and others.

The conference is traditionally held once a year, as part of World AIDS Day.
