Сommunities are organizations of people who have experienced, been affected by, or are at risk of HIV. Communities include peer educators, people living with HIV, people who inject drugs, sex workers, civil society organizations and community activists. That’s why a social worker and peer consultant, S. Kabzhalelov, was invited. He noted that the non-governmental organization “Trust Plus” has been providing social support to people living with HIV in the Almaty region for 3 years.

At the briefing, a question was asked about the UNAIDS goals “95-95-95”. Infectious disease doctor S. Makhmutova answered the question of the UNAIDS goal “95-95-95” - this is the strategy of the Joint United Nations Program against HIV, within which by 2030 the global community is set the goal of achieving three indicators: 95% of people with HIV should know their status, 95% of those who know their status will receive antiretroviral therapy, and 95% of those receiving therapy will achieve an undetectable level of viral load.

Of the indicators based on the results of 10 months in the AOC, AIDS is 88/86/88. Today, 2,297 patients are registered at the dispensary. Of these, 42 were with tuberculosis/HIV co-infection and 47 children were PLHIV (people living with HIV).

In the region, 221 new cases of HIV infection were registered among citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The growth occurs from year to year through the sexual route of transmission, namely the homosexual route (heterosexual sexual route of transmission of HIV infection - 76.5%, homosexual route - 5%).
