Seminar and open day in Almaty region

During the World Campaign under the slogan “Leadership to Communities,” doctors from the Almaty Regional AIDS Center conduct various events for the population.

On November 20, epidemiologists of the department of preventive work N. Kasymov, I. Sagyngeldi together with psychologist A. Orazbekova and doctors of the healthy lifestyle office T. Sikimbaeva and L. Uralbaeva of the central district hospital of the Ili district for students of secondary school No. 48 named after Tolegen Aibergenov with . Ekpendi held a seminar.

During the seminar, teenagers were given situational tasks on the topic “Stigma and discrimination.” 178 students took part, and 194 information and educational materials were distributed.

And also, employees of the preventive work department of the Almaty Regional Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS, together with specialists from the healthy lifestyle office and the MCZ of the Enbekshikazakh multidisciplinary hospital, held an open day.

On this day, the population is given the opportunity to receive advice, take tests to determine the level of glucose and cholesterol in the blood, measure blood pressure, and undergo an HIV test using express testing. Specialists from the AIDS Center spoke about HIV prevention, including ways of transmitting the virus, how to protect yourself from infection, and what misconceptions exist about HIV. 120 people were reached, 150 information and educational materials, 432 condoms were distributed. 67 people were examined for HIV.
