ROUND TABLE IN PAVLODAR

The Pavlodar HIV Prevention Centre held a round table discussion with representatives of education, health care, police department and NGOs on World AIDS Day.

The "Leadership to Communities" campaign involves the public foundations "You are not alone", "Gerlita", and "Tauan". AIDS service organizations travel with mobile groups and youth health centers to the villages of Zhelezinsky and Pavlodarsky districts to conduct actions, Open Days, talks and consultations.

Large-scale actions are planned in Ekibastuz: at Bulat Nurzhanov SDPP-1, SDPP-2 station, engineering and technical institute, polytechnic college, schools. During the meetings, students and power engineers will undergo rapid HIV testing and receive medical consultations.

In the regional center for the development of youth initiatives, the action will be held with the participation of the police department. These days, the participants of the action, NGO volunteers encourage young people to get tested for HIV and find out their HIV status.

Dissemination of information materials on HIV transmission, stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV is an important element of the campaign.
