November 20, 2023

On the eve of World AIDS Day, Kazakhstan joined the UNAIDS Global Campaign, which is held under the motto "Leadership to Communities".

The campaign will run from November 20 to December 1.
"The world can end AIDS if communities lead the fight. Community organizations facing HIV are at the forefront of countering the epidemic. Communities connect people with human-centered public health services, build trust, innovate, monitor policy implementation and service delivery," says UNAIDS.
Within the framework of the Global Campaign, various events will be held in all regions of the country together with NGOs and communities: actions, challenges, trainings aimed at increasing the knowledge of the population about HIV prevention measures, overcoming stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV.
On December 1, Open Days are planned in all Centers for the Prevention and Control of AIDS, and a press conference will be held in Almaty.
Today there are more than 31 thousand people living with HIV in Kazakhstan, the main route of transmission is sexual.
