Seminar for Youth health centers of Astana city

On November 17, 2023, a seminar for curators of a healthy lifestyle at medical organizations and representatives of youth health centers at PHC of Astana was held on the basis of the Center for HIV Prevention in Astana.

The event was opened by the Deputy Director of the HIV Center S.Abdraimov «Forty years have passed since the first cases of AIDS were registered in the world, but HIV still remains a global threat. Key populations that are most at risk of HIV infection face stigma and discrimination. The UNAIDS motto «Leadership for Communities»  will be heard not only on December 1. It will become the motto of the events that will begin in November this year and will continue to sound for a long time,» he said.

During the event, presentations were made on the epidemiological situation of HIV in Astana, on the specifics of counseling adolescents on HIV infection and about modern methods of HIV prevention, as well as on the upcoming events within the framework of the World AIDS Campaign.

The seminar was completed by the director of the Center for Healthy Lifestyle K.Khamzin «We urge you to join citywide events and take an active part in the decade for AIDS Day, and together with the volunteers of the ICZ to organize actions, flash mobs, round tables, debates, quizzes, seminars, lectures, etc. in attached schools, colleges and universities.».
