Monitoring visit to Ulytau region

On November 6-8, KNCDIZ specialists conducted a monitoring visit to the center for the prevention and control of AIDS in the Ulytau region.

During the visit, monitoring was carried out in the region:
- antiepidemiological, preventive, diagnostic measures on HIV infection;
- providing medical services to people living with HIV, key population groups;
- drug provision;
- the effectiveness of preventive measures for the transmission of HIV from mother to child.

 The specialists of the KNCDIZ noted that the Ulytau region belongs to the regions with an average HIV prevalence, which in the group from 15 to 49 years is 0.11. The number of people living with HIV who know their status is 131 people.
As part of the implementation of the target indicators of the Roadmap "On the implementation of measures to prevent HIV infection in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2026", more than 50% of indicators were achieved in the region on 31.10.2023.

Following the results of the visit, the specialists of the KNCDIZ made recommendations to the regional health department, the Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS regarding the organization and financing:
- preventive measures among key population groups;
- conducting a survey of the population of the region for HIV infection;
- dynamic monitoring of people living with HIV infection;
- professional development of medical workers;
- preparation of an application for the allocation of a state social order for NGOs.
