On October 26, 2023, a joint meeting was held at the Regional Mental Health Center under the organization of the Almaty Regional Center for Prevention and Control of AIDS on the work carried out among injection drug users.

The joint meeting was opened by the Deputy Director of the AIDS Center G. Zhakanova and the Deputy Director of the OPD Center L. Stepanova.

A report on the topic “Epidemiological situation of HIV infection among injection drug users” was made by epidemiologist of the epidemiological surveillance department A. Ayazbaeva.

The epidemiologist of the department of preventive work, T. Myrzagulova, spoke in detail about the preventive work among injection drug users in the Trust Centers. OPDO doctor A. Sakibaeva made a report on the topic “Checking of injection drug users during dynamic observation.”

At the end of the joint meeting, a question and answer session was held. Deputy Director of the AIDS Center G. Zhakanova gave a number of tasks and concluded the meeting. Participants - specialists from medical institutions - expressed gratitude to the organizers.
