The laboratory of the Kazakh Scientific Center of Dermatology and Infectious Diseases (KNCDIZ) of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan has successfully passed the procedure of compliance with the ISO 15189-2015 standard "Medical laboratories. Requirements for quality and competence".

The audit experts of the National Accreditation Body of the Republic of Kazakhstan came to a high assessment of the quality system implemented in the laboratory of KNCDIZ.

The certificate issued as a result of this procedure confirms that the quality management system in the laboratory is focused on obtaining reliable research results.

It is also the next logical step in improving the quality policy system of the KNCDIZ laboratory, in accordance with the requirements of the National Standard.

The accreditation confirms the competence of the laboratory, where all international quality standards are observed. Currently, the laboratory has high-tech equipment that meets international standards, and highly sensitive diagnostic tests are used to diagnose HIV. This makes it possible to conduct more than 25 thousand studies annually.

To date, KNCDIZ is actively working on the implementation of a quality policy in the laboratories of the HIV service. An international meeting of HIV laboratory staff, organized by WHO and held in Ankara, Turkey, discussed the transition to new HIV diagnostic algorithms. And in this context, it was noted that 37 laboratories have been accredited in Ukraine according to ISO 15189, including 7 in the service of HIV; in Turkey - 43 and 4 HIV, respectively; in Kazakhstan - 65, of which 10 laboratories specialize in working with HIV.

This indicates a high level of development of laboratory examination in the Republic of Kazakhstan and its role in providing high-quality medical diagnostics.
