Professor Robert Hamer visited AIDS service NGOs in Astana

During the visit to Astana, Robert Hamer, Professor of Epidemiology and Pharmacology at the Yale Institute of Global Health, and Syed Ali, Professor at the Nazarbayev University School of Medicine, visited the AIDS-service non-governmental organizations  «Life in Spite», «Step into the Future», «Human Health Institute» of Astana.

The guests got acquainted with the work of NGOs, discussed measures to reduce the prevalence of HIV among key population groups. Professor Robert Hamer shared his experience in Vietnam, the USA and Russia. Professor Syed Ali familiarized with the plans to launch the project «Hot spots of HIV infection in Kazakhstan».

In conclusion, the participants of the event agreed on further cooperation.
