Training for multidisciplinary PTAO teams

From June 16 to June 24, a training for 70 members of multidisciplinary teams of PTAO took place in Shymkent.

Among the participants are doctors, psychiatrists, narcologists, medical psychologists and nurses. The topic of the training is "Increasing the capacity of multidisciplinary PTAO groups to provide comprehensive medical and social services, including support for ART adherence".

The event was organized by the RSE at the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Mental Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of the implementation of the grant of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The training was conducted by an international coach S. Dvoryak is a professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, narcologist of the highest category, head of the Board, founder and senior researcher of the Ukrainian Institute of Public Health Policy.

Among the objectives of the training: training participants to provide comprehensive medical and social care, including adherence to ART in people living with HIV, included in the PTAO program; providing evidence-based quality medical care, as well as access to medical care, to persons suffering from mental and behavioral disorders as a result of opioid use with opioid dependence syndrome.
