On June 15-16, a training was held in Astana for 18 representatives of non-governmental organizations from different regions of Kazakhstan (Astana, Shymkent, Almaty, Aktobe, Karaganda, Kostanay, Pavlodar regions) on obtaining funding for the implementation of measures aimed at HIV prevention, STIs, care and support for people living with HIV (PLHIV).

The event was organized within the framework of a grant from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in partnership with the KAMEDA Foundation in order to increase the capacity of NGOs and strengthen the community system for the effective implementation of preventive measures among key population groups and the care and support of PLHIV.

Today, NGOs have a significant impact on curbing the HIV epidemic by organizing and conducting preventive measures. Ensuring access to preventive services and expanding the range of services is possible only with the cooperation of NGOs with government agencies.

Among the objectives of the training is to train NGO representatives on mechanisms for allocating state funding, including social entrepreneurship.

The training was conducted by Mahabbat Espenova, OF "KAMEDA" and Bibisara Beisenbayeva, of "Adal-Niet".During the training, the participants got acquainted with social entrepreneurship, the Canvas business model, the basics of business planning, and also visited a social enterprise to exchange experiences.
