To ensure uninterrupted drug supply to patients

Оn February 24 in Astana, the staff of the KNCDIZ took part in a round table on issues of uninterrupted drug supply to people living with HIV and representatives of key population groups.

 The event is organized by the Central Asian Association of People Living with HIV in partnership with ITPC EECA and UNAIDS. The Regional Director of UNAIDS in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Emonn Murphy, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.

The participants discussed topical issues :

- the possibility of zeroing the credit debt of the Centers for the Prevention and Control of AIDS,

- conditions for continuing work to reduce the cost of ARV drugs, including dolutegravir and other medicines,

- the need to expand access to ARV drugs for children, in particular the registration of raltegravir in Kazakhstan.

The participants of the round table focused on the problems associated with ensuring uninterrupted supply of ARV drugs and opportunities that contribute to improving the situation. Among the latter: the formation of a three-month buffer stock of ARVT and the purchase of small volumes of ARV drugs.
