Preventive work for schoolchildren

In February, specialists of the Petropavlovsk Youth Resource Center

and the North-Kazakhstan AIDS Center held a series of meetings with students of educational institutions of the city. The purpose of these events is to promote a healthy lifestyle.

AIDS Center specialist Oksana Simuhina told schoolchildren on HIV prevention, including the ways of transmission of the immunodeficiency virus, how to protect yourself from infection, as well as what misconceptions exist about HIV.

For example, they explained to the guys that they were in the same team it is safe to study or work, communicate and be friends with a person who has HIV, since HIV is not transmitted through household contact.

Oksana Simukhina uses presentations, videos, and offers to solve situational problems. All this helps teenagers to better understand the material, and participation in quizzes makes it possible to check how the guys learned the information. At the end of the event, they asked their questions to experts.

In February, specialists of the Petropavlovsk Youth Resource Center and the North-Kazakhstan AIDS Center held a set of meetings with students of educational institutions of the city. One of the goals of these events is to promote a healthy lifestyle.

They jointly visited 18 schools. The meetings were attended by students of grades 6-10.

The total enrollment of students amounted to more than a thousand people.

Work on HIV prevention among students of SKO will be continued.
