Experience plus innovation

The dissemination of best practices and the introduction of innovations were discussed by the participants of the dialogue platform on strengthening interaction, partnership between the state and non-state sectors on February 2-3 in Almaty.

 The experience of two regional AIDS centers and NGOs demonstrated to the participants effective opportunities for cooperation in providing HIV prevention services to key population groups (REGS) :

- The HIV Prevention Center of Astana with the public funds "Human Health Institute", "Step into the future", "Life in spite of ": interaction within the framework of obtaining state funding. In 2022, these NGOs received and successfully implemented three state orders for the provision of HIV prevention services among REGN.

- The AIDS Center of Kostanay region with the public associations " Path of Health - 1" and "MIGDAL": today in the region of the KGN are fully provided with condoms, syringes, rapid HIV tests.

What new approaches to testing will help expand this process? Many participants received the answer to this question from presentations of the experience of state, international and non-governmental organizations:

- RSE at the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Mental Health,

- ICAP at Columbia University,

- OF the Center for Scientific and Practical Initiatives.

One of the effective online tools to expand the coverage of testing has become a service for ordering tests for self-testing, which was implemented by ICAP in cooperation with the AIDS Center of Almaty. Many other interesting and useful forms of work are being introduced.

New impulses of collaborations can provide:

- strategic partnership,

- social entrepreneurship,

- public private partnership,

- crowdfunding.
