Advocacy meeting on budget propaganda of the state social order

On May 18-19, in Shymkent, KSCDIZ held an advocacy meeting on issues of allocation of the state social order.

 

Among the participants: representatives of regional AIDS Centers, NGOs, international organizations, decision makers. The discussion focused on successes, problems, ways to solve them, as well as best practices for highlighting.

I. Petrenko, Deputy Director of KSCDIZ, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, who noted the relevance of the problem under discussion and aimed the audience at a productive exchange of experience and the search for innovative solutions. The meeting was attended by the chief expert of the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Katrenova and Professor, Member of the Board of the Global Fund M. Kulzhanov.During the meeting, M. Espenova, Executive Director of the Public Foundation "KAMEDA" spoke about the project "Ensuring the sustainability and continuity of services for key populations and people living with HIV in the Republic of Kazakhstan", which is being implemented with the support of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria .The participants noted the barriers and priorities for the allocation of the state social order. The discussion covered all regions where there are AIDS service organizations implementing the Global Fund grant.The meeting adopted the following recommendations:- prepare a letter with recommendations to local executive authorities;- conduct training on public procurement;- organize training for purchasers of Health Departments and AIDS Centers;- develop approaches to determining the cost of HIV prevention projects among key populations (KPs);- plan three-year projects on HIV prevention among KPs to ensure continuous and systematic preventive work;- to analyze lots of youth policy on HIV prevention.
