Results of the implementation of the 1st year of the project by subcontractors of the GF grant

On February 4, KSCDIZ and the implementation team of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria held a working meeting to discuss progress, problems and ways to solve them with the Public Foundation "Center for Scientific and Practical Initiatives", "Kameda", ALE "Kazakhstan Union of PLWH".

 

The leaders of non-governmental organizations spoke about the achievements and challenges of work in 2021. Here are just a few of them.

ALE "Kazakhstan Union of PLHIV"An image event was held – the 7th Congress of People Living with HIV.A training of trainers was organized to prepare a national team for outreach work among key populations, followed by cascade trainings in different regions of the country.Monitoring visits were made to the cities of Almaty, Karaganda, Temirtau, Nur-Sultan.PF "Center for Scientific and Practical Initiatives"184 clients are involved in the pre-exposure prophylaxis of HIV (PrEP) program.Conducted 12 trainings for medical professionals and NGO staff.A national training was organized for 23 medical staff and a seminar-meeting for the chief physicians of the AIDS Centers.But drugs for PrEP are not enough. Since November 2021, they have not been issued in the Pavlodar region and Nur-Sultan, and since 2022 in the Zhambyl and Kostanay regions. Not all doctors know the clinical protocol.OF "Kameda"An advocacy meeting was held to train budget propaganda for the allocation of the state social order (SPS) with the participation of NGOs.Provided technical assistance (mentoring) to 10 NGOs.Training modules were developed, webinars were held with a certification system on the main elements of the potential of organizations.But many NGOs do not want to participate in obtaining the SPSS. Not everyone follows the code of ethics.Some NGO leaders find it difficult to finance the contribution to the NHS application. PF "Kameda" took the initiative to conduct a consultation on this issue, which is scheduled for the near future.
