Results of the implementation of the 1st year of the project by subcontractors of the GF grant in Kostanay region

On February 1, KSCDIZ and the implementation team of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria held a working meeting to discuss progress, problems and ways to solve them with the NGO "Health Path-1" and the AIDS Center of Kostanay region.

NGO Path of Health-1 presented a report on work with PWID for 2021.

- “Thanks to the GF grant and effective cooperation with the regional center for the prevention and control of AIDS, there has been a noticeable improvement in the epidemiological situation among PWID in the region,” said the head of the NGO L. Tomilovskaya.Among the new cases identified in 2021, the parenteral route, with injecting drug use, was 41.5%.Active preventive measures among PWID allowed to reduce the incidence of HIV in the group by 32% within 3 years. Today the organization has 10 outreach workers. They have been trained.All PWID are covered by prevention programs. The number of PWID examined at the base of NGOs with a positive result for HIV infection-12.This year, thanks to the successful advocacy of the RCAIDS and the NGO Path of Health-1, for the first time in the region, a state social order was allocated for preventive measures among key populations.The meeting noted the need to increase the amount of remuneration for outreach workers, as well as the introduction of a differentiated approach to payment. The national coordinator of the GF implementation group T. Davletgaliyeva informed that from January 2021, the amount of remuneration for all outreach workers, in agreement with the GF, will be increased to 60 thousand tenge.
