On June 7, 2021, specialists of the Regional AIDS Center of WKO held an action for employees of the "Aigul" and "Altyn Alma" trading markets.

The event is timed to coincide with the World Day against Drug Addiction and Illicit Drug Trafficking under the slogan "Marathon of Healthy habits".

Experts V. Tsoi, S. Ashimova and G. Kuanysheva told that today in the West Kazakhstan region more than 45.0 % of new cases of HIV infection occur when injecting drugs are used. The use of surfactants can lead to casual sexual relations, which can also contribute to the spread of HIV sexually.

During the event, consultations on HIV testing were held.
