Health is a Priority

 Specialists of the Regional HIV Prevention Center under the Health Department of Zhetysu Region continue conducting information and awareness activities among key population groups, placing special emphasis on increasing public awareness and promoting responsible attitudes toward maintaining personal health.

As part of preventive activities, meetings were held in Panfilov District with individuals under probation supervision, law enforcement officers, and military personnel from local military units.

During the meetings, specialists discussed current trends in the spread of HIV infection, modes of transmission, the effectiveness of existing prevention measures, the importance of early diagnosis, and the benefits of timely initiation of antiretroviral therapy.

Following the informational session, participants were offered the opportunity to undergo voluntary and confidential rapid HIV testing. A total of 75 rapid tests were conducted during the event, and the results were communicated individually to each participant while strictly maintaining confidentiality.

According to specialists, insufficient awareness and low motivation to undergo HIV testing remain major challenges in HIV prevention efforts. Therefore, the region will continue strengthening awareness campaigns, improving access to healthcare services, and disseminating educational materials through digital communication channels.

As emphasized by the speakers, reliable information and personal responsibility are the most important tools in HIV prevention. Effective results can only be achieved through the joint efforts of the entire community.
