As part of the events dedicated to the Day of Remembrance for People Who Died of AIDS, Elvira Utelova, Head of the Organizational and Methodological Department of the Astana City HIV Prevention Center, took part in a live broadcast of the “Zhandaua” program on the national radio station SHALQAR.
During the broadcast, listeners received up-to-date information on HIV prevention, the epidemiological situation in the capital, modern approaches to treatment, and the importance of early detection of the infection.
Elvira Kydyraliyevna noted that regular HIV testing and timely diagnosis are among the key measures to prevent the spread of the infection. Early detection makes it possible to start treatment promptly, increase its effectiveness, and reduce the risk of further virus transmission.
Special attention during the broadcast was given to risk factors for which HIV testing is recommended. These include unprotected sexual contact, sexually transmitted infections, and the use of non-sterile medical or injection instruments.
The speaker emphasized that testing should be done in a timely manner, even in the absence of pronounced clinical symptoms. Early testing helps detect the infection at an initial stage and receive the necessary medical care without delay.
The Astana City HIV Prevention Center continues its awareness-raising activities aimed at increasing public knowledge about transmission routes, prevention measures, and the importance of taking responsible care of one’s health.
