Meeting with WHO: Toward a New Roadmap

February 12, 2026

The KRCDIH continues its collaboration with the WHO. On February 4, an online meeting with the Ministry of Health and the WHO was held at the KRCDIH to plan joint activities in accordance with the regional action plan to eliminate AIDS, viral hepatitis, and STIs for 2022-2030.

International experts noted that Kazakhstan is making significant efforts to implement the regional action plan to eliminate AIDS, viral hepatitis, and STIs for 2022-2030. Kazakhstan has developed a Roadmap "On the implementation of measures to prevent HIV infection for 2023-2026." In 2025, KRCDIH staff, with the support of WHO, conducted two studies: a scientific verification study to optimize the HIV diagnostic algorithm and an analysis of late HIV diagnosis. The results of these studies will be taken into account in the development of the new Roadmap.

A new Roadmap for 2027-2030 is planned to be developed this year. Participants discussed priorities and key activities based on differentiated service delivery models that meet the needs of various population groups. The need for effective service delivery models and innovation was emphasized.
