Starting from 1 January 2026, an updated list of socially significant diseases will come into effect. The list includes the following conditions

Tuberculosis

HIV infection

Chronic viral hepatitis and liver cirrhosis

Malignant neoplasms (cancer)

Mental and behavioural disorders

Acute myocardial infarction (within the first 6 months)

Degenerative diseases of the nervous system

Demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system

Rare (orphan) diseases

Epilepsy

Stroke (within one year after onset)

People diagnosed with diseases from this list are entitled to medical supervision, medications, and laboratory tests covered by the Guaranteed Volume of Free Medical Care, meaning these services are provided at the expense of the state.
