From November 10 to December 10, an informational campaign titled “From Challenges to Transformations in Response to HIV” is taking place in the country. The campaign was organized in honor of December 1 – World AIDS Day – and aims to raise public awareness about HIV prevention and treatment, as well as to reduce stigma and discrimination.

As part of the campaign, an informational event called “Make Your Choice!” was held in the Turkestan Region for students of specialized educational institutions. The goal of the event was to reduce the spread of HIV among young people and promote a healthy lifestyle.

More than 300 active young people participated in the meeting. Their interest and questions demonstrated that youth are engaged and concerned about this topic.

Meruert Atambaeva, an epidemiologist at the Turkestan Regional Center for HIV Prevention, spoke to the youth about the value of health and the importance of personal responsibility:

"HIV prevention among young people is one of the urgent issues. Young people should approach every matter with personal responsibility."

During the event, students openly shared their opinions and suggested organizing similar activities together in the future.

This initiative helped young people understand the importance of taking responsibility for their lives and protecting themselves from HIV.
