Seminars were held in six schools of Zhambyl district

In January 2025, in order to implement the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 7, 2020 No. 360-VI "On Public Health and the healthcare system", Article 99, Chapter 1, paragraph 3, "Integration of HIV prevention issues into the education system and workplaces", a round table was held in six schools of Zhambyl district with the participation of 8-11 high school students, deputy directors of the Zhambyl district secondary educational institution, biology teachers and school nurses.

The round table was organized jointly with the AIDS Center of the Almaty region and doctors of the Zhambyl regional Central Hospital on the topic "Prevention of HIV infection among young people." Obstetrician-gynecologist of Zhambyl regional hospital – А. Zhylysbek spoke on the topic «Early pregnancy», narcologist of Zhambyl regional hospital – Т. Kulumbetov on the topic «Danger of narcotic substances to human health», valeologist of the youth center of Zhambyl regional hospital –А. Satova made a presentation on «Proper nutrition».

For the specialists of ourCenter, inworkingwithyoung people, it is extremelyimportant to consider the prevention of HIVinfectionand drug addictionthrough the prism of fosteringpersonalresponsibilityfortheirhealth,lifestyle,partnerchoice, and familyplanning.

In total, more than 3303 school specialists and students took part in the educational event, and more than 810 information and educational materials were distributed.

N.Kasymov, an epidemiologist at the Center, noted:

- «Young people play a key role in the fight against HIV infection. By providing young people with the necessary support, we give them the opportunity to protect themselves from the virus. By providing them with honest and open information, we will be able to break the vicious circle of silence about this problem in society. By developing and providing prevention programs, we will be able to turn the enthusiasm, enthusiasm and dreams of young people about the future into powerful means of fighting the epidemic».
