On February 3, 2025, in Uralsk, according to the plan of joint interdepartmental work, specialists from the regional HIV prevention center, the regional mental health center, and the Bolashak Youth health center held a seminar at the private school OQU SCHOOL on Education for Health."
The event is aimed at overcoming stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV, fostering a tolerant attitude towards people regardless of age, gender, belonging to a particular social group.
All the speakers tried to convey information about the importance of health for a full human life to teenagers in a confidential manner. Schoolchildren received first-hand information about the dangers of tobacco smoking, the devastating effects of psychoactive substances on the human brain, and learned what measures should be taken to avoid becoming infected with HIV.
- Although today we live in an age of global information flows, knowledge about HIV remains relevant. That's why it's so important to debunk HIV-related myths and stereotypes! – said G.Umbetova, a teacher at the HIV Prevention Department of the West Kazakhstan Region.
The seminar was attended by G. Gumarova, a narcologist at the OCP of the West Kazakhstan Region, N. Atabayeva, a gynecologist at the ICZ "Bolashak" city polyclinic No. 5 and J. Aydinalieva is an inspector of the Department of Juvenile Police of the Department of Internal Affairs of West Kazakhstan Region.
