The Stigma Index: the discussion continues

The country has completed the study "Stigma Index" 2023-24. The first discussion of the preliminary results took place at a meeting with government, international and non-governmental organizations. The second one was attended by employees of KSC DIZ and regional HIV prevention centers.

Asembekov and P. Savvin, consultants of the Central Asian Association of People Living with HIV and UNAIDS, made presentations on the preliminary results of the study.

They noted that the research focuses on current topics.:

- internalized stigma,

- willingness to seek medical help,

- the beginning and reception of ART,

- reasons for postponing the start of ART,

- reasons for ART interruption,

- sexual and reproductive health,

- Human rights,

- Stigma and discrimination against key population groups.

The general trend is that the level of stigma has hardly changed compared to the previous study.
