Monitoring visit to the perinatal center

On January 21, 2025, employees of the Kostanay Regional Center for Prevention and Control of AIDS organized a monitoring visit to the perinatal center of the Kostanay Regional Hospital.

The purpose of the visit is to assess the quality of anti-epidemiological, preventive, diagnostic measures on HIV infection and prevention of vertical transmission.

During the provision of organizational and methodological assistance, the staff of the perinatal center demonstrated the procedures for conducting rapid testing for HIV, collecting a dry drop of capillary blood from a newborn, and answered all the questions posed.

During the visit, dates were determined for conducting informal education with staff of the perinatal center in the field of preventing the transmission of HIV, syphilis, and viral hepatitis from mother to child.

«Coordinated work in accordance with clinical protocols on the diagnosis and treatment of HIV infection, compliance with all current regulatory documents, algorithms, recommendations of the AIDS Center helps reduce the risk of HIV transmission from mother to child to almost zero”, -  noted N. Tashetova, head of the organizational and methodological department.
