CCC meeting

Topical issues were discussed at the meeting of the Country Coordination Committee for Work with International Organizations on HIV Infection and Tuberculosis, chaired by E. Sh. Nurlybayev, on January 27.

 The discussion focused on the draft application for funding from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria for the Tuberculosis component for 2026-2028. The main recipient is the National Research Center for Phthisiopulmonology of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 Another news is that a research project on the prevalence of drug use among schoolchildren and young people was presented. Objective: to determine the socio-epidemiological predictors of the use of psychoactive substances (surfactants) and the prevalence of the use of surfactants in the age group of 13-18 years. With the help of the study, it is planned to study the socio-epidemiological factors influencing the predisposition to the use of surfactants, to identify risk groups for the development of preventive measures. The last such study was conducted in the country in 2018.

 

Ye.Sh. Nurlybayev noted that in the coming days the situation with the provision of vocational training in the country will be stabilized. Patients will be provided with the drug in full.

 At the end of the meeting, the CCM members nominated representatives of Kazakhstan to the Board of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Representatives of the Republic of Kazakhstan were I. Aitmagambetova (CDC) and M. Kulzhanov (Kazakhstan School of Public Health).
