Affordable medical care in dermatology: 78% of patients come from rural areas

Of the 1,500 people who received qualified medical care in the hospital of the Kazakh Scientific Center of Dermatology and Infectious Diseases of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan as part of the guaranteed volume of free medical care, the majority of patients, 78 percent– are residents of rural areas. Of the 426 small hospital patients who received treatment, 322 children came from rural areas.

In the case when the patient is unable to move, the staff of the KSCDIZ conducts consultations remotely and is in constant contact with colleagues from the regions. In total, 317 online consultations were conducted in 2024.

As part of the instructions of the Head of State, the Ministry of Health is implementing a wide range of measures to improve the quality and accessibility of medical care for rural residents, especially specialized medical services based on leading republican clinics, which are provided free of charge under the GOBMP.
