Leishmaniasis and dermatomycosis under special control

With the participation of the chief doctors of skin and venereological dispensaries and multidisciplinary hospitals, as well as the main regional freelance dermatovenerologists and dermatovenerologists, KNCDIZ held a seminar on strengthening control over leishmaniasis and dermatomycosis.

Tashbaeva, Head of the Dermatology Department No. 1 of the Department of Internal Affairs, Shymkent, and Gulshat Temirkhanovna, dermatovenerologist, head of the hospital of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Kyzylorda region, spoke about the situation with the incidence and measures taken against leishmaniasis in the Turkestan and Kyzylorda regions.

The participants got acquainted with statistics, forms of leishmaniasis, epidemiology and seasonality of the disease in the country. It was noted that 75 percent of patients are adults. The alertness of all doctors to this disease is necessary.

The presentation "Dermatomycosis: problems and solutions in the Republic of Kazakhstan" was made by S. Ospanova, Ph.D., Head of the Postgraduate Education Department of the KSCDIZ. She focused on the proper diagnosis and prevention of diseases, including timely detection and treatment. It is important to strengthen information and educational work among the population.

The regulatory legal acts on infectious dermatoses in Kazakhstan were introduced by G. Akhmetova, Ph.D., Head of the Epidemiological Monitoring Department of the KNCDIZ.
