Organized a round table with teachers

On March 16, 2023, Aigerim Sultanova, a specialist in the prevention department of the Almaty Regional AIDS Center, together with narcologists, gynecologists and valeologists of the Talgar district hospital, held a round table on the topic “Prevention of HIV infection among young people”.

The event, held in the assembly hall of school No. 32 of the city, was attended by directors of district schools and their deputies for educational work, teachers of biology.

The meeting was opened by a specialist of the Talgar regional department of education U. Zhusanbayeva, noting that today HIV infection is becoming widespread among young people.

The gynecologist of the district L.Nauryzbaeva raised issues of protecting the reproductive health of adolescents and youth, the narcologist A. Sakibaeva and the valeologist A. Akylbekova explained the prevalence of bad habits among young people, the prevention of drug addiction and the harm of electronic cigarettes.

The participants learned about the epidemiological situation of HIV infection in the region, the ways of transmission and preventive measures from the report of the epidemiologist A. Sultanova. The specialist also stressed that stigmatization and discrimination are not allowed, that is, children diagnosed with HIV should not be denied admission to school, teachers should not be fired.
