Large-scale action for students at KazNUI "Shabyt"

On November 29, 2022, within the framework of the World AIDS Campaign, a large-scale action «Time for Equality!» was held for university students together with KazNUI «Shabyt» and the Public Health Department of Astana city.

The action was attended by non-governmental organizations and students of higher educational institutions.

From November 21 to December 1, 2022 by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) has announced a worldwide campaign against AIDS under the motto «Time for equality!», in connection with which, a decade-long anti-AIDS campaign has been announced in Astana. «The main purpose of this information campaign is to increase the knowledge of young people about HIV infection, preserve and strengthen health, and the participants of the action have the opportunity to find out their HIV status by express method» said Deputy Director of the HIV Center S. Musina.

The organizers of the action called on every citizen to make a small contribution to HIV prevention, to know the ways of transmission and always use HIV prevention measures, to share useful information about HIV with friends, not to allow discrimination and not to forget about the role of communities in combating AIDS.

Memorable gifts were presented to the participants of the action for their activity, for interesting proposals on HIV prevention, good physical fitness, and a drawing contest was organized among students. The action was held according to the type of interactive health route, where at each point participants told and discussed HIV prevention issues.

The HIV Center expresses its gratitude for the fruitful cooperation and thanks all partners in organizing this action.
