Day of specialist psychiatrist-narcologist in Akmola region

On September 23, 2022, the head of the preventive work department of the Akmola Regional Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS, Zoya Khvan, took part in the regional seminar of psychiatrists-narcologists.

In her presentation, the speaker presented the epidemiological situation of HIV infection in the Akmola region for 7 months of this year, dwelled in detail on monitoring the survey of people who inject drugs (PWID) for HIV infection, providing reporting forms in accordance with the current orders of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

«Specialists of the AIDS Center carry out family monitoring of PWID in the laboratory information system, compliance of examination codes when registering and those who are under dynamic observation who inject drugs», - Z. Khvan shared at the event.

In addition, the center's specialist analyzed in detail the reasons for not examining PWID, whether there is feedback from the police when sending official requests to search for evaders.

At the end of her speech, the speaker answered the questions of specialists from the districts and everyone could get information and educational material on the prevention of HIV infection, viral hepatitis and “harm reduction” for PWID.
