KNTsDIZ prepares amendments to regulatory documents

On August 23-24, specialists from the clinical monitoring department of the KSCDIZ of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Public Health Association, held a workshop to discuss changes to the regulatory documents of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in accordance with the WHO guidelines "Consolidated recommendations for HIV prevention, testing, treatment, provision of services and monitoring" dated July 16, 2021 .

The participants of the event - heads of treatment and prevention departments of regional AIDS centers - got acquainted with the review and existing gaps in the regulatory framework of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the provision of medical services to people living with HIV (PLHIV). Another important information point of the meeting was the presentation on modern requirements for drug provision of the population in the context of digitalization of healthcare.

During the event, the participants discussed, in accordance with the latest WHO recommendations, legal documents governing the provision of medical care to PLHIV:

clinical protocol for the diagnosis and treatment of HIV infection in adults and children;

draft standard for the provision of medical and social care to patients with HIV;

draft algorithm for diagnosing HIV infection in children under 18 months of age born to HIV-positive mothers;

algorithm for managing HIV-positive pregnant women at the level of prenatal care;

Algorithm for the management of HIV-positive pregnant women at the level of obstetric institutions and the postpartum period.

The amendments made to the regulatory legal acts will improve the quality of diagnosis and treatment of patients with HIV infection and optimize the treatment regimens used in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Changes are planned by KNTsDIZ before the end of this year.
