Training for the preparation of para-lawyers to work with key groups

On June 23-24, a training course for street lawyers (para-lawyers) to work with key population groups was held in Almaty.

 The organizer of the event is the Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights and Rule of Law with the support of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

The participants of the event were 25 people from different regions of the country who got acquainted with human rights, medical criminal offenses, the procedure for appealing the actions of medical workers, civil lawsuits, and also discussed the main risk factors of non-communicable diseases and ways to overcome them using the harm reduction concept.

Presentations at the training were made by:

Evgeny Zhovtis - Director of the Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights and Rule of Law.

✅ Leyla Ramazanova is a lawyer of the Almaty City Bar Association.

Inara Masanova is a lawyer of the Almaty Regional Bar Association.

✅ Kentra Gintautas-Juozas is an expert doctor of the Densaulyk OUL, OF "Aman-Saulyk".
