On June 23-25 in the city of Taraz, the Kazakh Scientific Center of Dermatology and Infectious Diseases of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Department of Dermatovenerology of the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov and the NGO "Society of Dermatovenerologists, Dermatocosmetologists and Leprologists" held the XII scientific and educational regional forum "17 regions of dermatovenerologists, dermatocosmetologists and leprologists".

The forum was held within the framework of World Vitiligo Day, which is traditionally celebrated in the world on June 25 and is designed to raise awareness about the disease among the population. The forum was attended by more than 120 medical staff from different regions of the country and the Kyrgyz Republic, including well-known domestic specialists and scientists, as well as young doctors.

The event has traditionally been organized since 2015 and has already become a popular platform for scientific and practical communication. It was here that the methods of treating skin diseases were presented for the first time, which subsequently proved to be advanced. At one of the forums, an innovative method of treating vitiligo was presented – narrow-band phototherapy, which has been successfully implemented in practice today.

KNCDIZ specialists together with colleagues from the Center for Vitiligo and Skin Health are leaders in Central Asia in the treatment of patients with vitiligo by epidermal cell transplantation.

- Thanks, among other things, to these advanced methods, over the past five years in Kazakhstan, the incidence of vitiligo has decreased by almost 1.2 times. There is a clear trend of decreasing new cases of syphilis and gonorrhea. To improve the situation last year, the country developed a Standard for the organization of medical care for patients with sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in accordance with the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the Health of the people and the healthcare system", updated clinical protocols, changed the algorithm for the diagnosis of syphilis, - says Asylkhan Abishev, Director of the CDC.

Participants of the XII scientific and educational regional forum of specialists of the dermatovenerological service of the Republic of Kazakhstan got acquainted with the results of scientific research related to the identification of the nature of skin diseases that have been carried out in the country in recent years. A school of a young specialist with the participation of residents of the KNCDIZ worked at the forum, where individual clinical cases and features of diseases were discussed.

Within the framework of the forum, the doctors of the KNCDIZ held consultations with patients with chronic severe dermatoses and provided organizational and methodological assistance to specialists of the Zhambyl regional Skin and venereological dispensary.

In connection with the "Year of Children in Kazakhstan" announced in the country, the leading specialists of the KNCDIZ provided consultative and diagnostic assistance to young patients of the region with dermatological diseases on the basis of the central district hospital of the Merken district.
