Meeting with Kokshetau policemen about HIV
On April 11, 2022, a meeting on HIV prevention with law enforcement officers of the regional center was held at the Police Department of Kokshetau.
NurlybekKonuspaev, a specialist in the prevention department of the Akmola Regional Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS, told the audience about the ways of transmission and measures to prevent HIV, dwelling on each of them in more detail.
In addition, the speaker informed the police about the work of the harm reduction program, its mission and principles.
An important outcome of the meeting was the understanding that HIV infection is a behavioral disease that is more dependent on risk behavior factors, therefore, adherence to simple preventive measures, such as protected sex, not using drugs, sterile instruments for medical and cosmetic procedures, help avoid infection.
