Meeting in the military unit of Kokshetau

On February 9, 2022, a meeting was held between specialists from the Akmola Regional Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS and conscript soldiers of military unit No. 5510 in Kokshetau on the topic “HIV infection”.

Head of the Prevention Department of the RC AIDS Z. Khvan made a presentation on the epidemiological situation of HIV infection in the Akmola region, on the ways of transmission, diagnosis and prevention, antiretroviral therapy, raised issues of stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV.

A video was shown to consolidate the material, information and educational material was distributed in the state and Russian languages.

The meeting was interesting, questions were asked, the audience expressed its opinion on the issues of stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV.

More than 100 people attended the event.
