Results of the implementation of the 1st year of the project by subcontractors of the GF grant in Almaty, Aktobe and Pavlodar regions

On February 3, KSCDIZ and the implementation team of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria held a working meeting to discuss successes, problems and ways to solve them with NGO "Trust Plus", NGO "New Life", "Gerlita" and the AIDS Centers of Almaty, Aktobe and Palodar regions.

The leaders of non-governmental organizations reported on the work for 2021, noted achievements and problems.NGO "Trust Plus"21 people living with HIV were returned to dispensary registration.For the first time, 55 people started taking ART.There are seven peer advisors in the organization. While three rates are free, there are difficulties in the selection of personnel. Many people are poorly informed about HIV, do not know their rights, experience self-stigma, are afraid to go to medical institutions, and do not have CSMI insurance.PF "New Life"We increased the coverage of MSM with vocational programs by 34%.Distributed condoms - 63,072, lubricants - 64 thousand.Won a grant under the state social order. The organization regularly conducts trainings and seminars to train peer consultants. The public foundation needs a paralegal to strengthen its legal work.OF "Gerlita"432 people were tested on the basis of NGOs.New HIV cases - 5.60,000 condoms and 67 lubricants were distributed.The organization conducts seminars, including those on psychosocial counseling, emotional intelligence, and work in social networks. Among the problems is the difficulty in being able to test teenagers who go to nightclubs for HIV.Participants thanked the GF for increasing the wages of outreach workers. They also expressed requests for an increase in PEP drugs and the possibility of revising the estimated number of MSM.
