 The results of joint work for 2021 were introduced to the participants by the acting. head of the epidemiological department A. Akhmezhanov. She noted the downward trend in the detection of new cases of HIV infection in places of deprivation of liberty (PLC). If in 2020 they were registered - 44, then in 2021 - 38. The efficiency of educational work has increased. There were twice as many lectures on HIV prevention as in the previous year. If in 2020 246 people were covered by educational activities, then a year later - 337.

Among the problems, the meeting participants focused on the implementation of the blood sampling algorithm in terms of improper storage and delivery to the AIDS center, as well as control over HIV testing. Recommendations on tuberculosis chemoprophylaxis were presented to the audience by infectious disease doctor A. Alimbekova.The participants are faced with the task of providing an examination for the presence of HIV infection with pre- and post-test psychosocial counseling for all persons in prisons: upon admission, after six months, before release, at the request of the convict.
