Press conference held as part of the world AIDS campaign

On November 16, the Aktobe regional AIDS center in the Regional communications service held a press conference on the world AIDS campaign, on the theme «Global solidarity, shared responsibility».

Deputy chief physician A.Kaspirova and head of the prevention department A.Zhailaubaeva made presentations at the press conferences.

Every year, the world celebrates world AIDS day on December 1. This year in our country it will last from November 16 to 24. During the campaign, the AIDS center plans to conduct preventive measures in an online format. The official page of the social network «Instagram» of the Aktobe regional AIDS center is scheduled to include: an action among subscribers on the topic: «About HIV» and «challenge» among non-governmental organizations on the topic: «Take the first step».

As of November 1, 2020.  in the Aktobe region, since 1989, a total of 457VICH positive citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan have been registered .Our region is one of the regions with a relatively low prevalence of HIV infection and ranks 14th in the country. Among all those identified in the region, 35% are aged from 30 to 39 years, men - 61%, and sexual transmission of HIV - 67%.

Everyone should know their HIV status in order to be confident and take care of their health. Even if there are no behavioral risk factors or clinical indications, you can choose to take an HIV test voluntarily, anonymously, or confidentially. Knowing your HIV status means being responsible for yourself and your loved ones!
