Meeting with international studentsOn the basis of the Regional HIV Prevention Center, a meeting was held with medical students from Europe, namely from countries such as Italy, Poland, Romania and Slovenia. The students came under the SCORE X-change exchange program. This is a new program that started functioning this year, which aims to share experiences about sexual and reproductive health, as well as HIV prevention in different countries. The speakers were the head of the medical and preventive department Neil Mamyrbekova, epidemiologist Assel Dyusembayeva, head of the laboratory Raushan Rakhmetova. Asel Dyusembayeva told the students about the epidemiological situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Abai region, and HIV prevention methods.

HIV prevention in North Kazakhstan business structuresSpecialists from the North Kazakhstan Regional Center for HIV Prevention have carried out outreach work on HIV prevention in 23 business structures in the city of Petropavlovsk since the beginning of August. Including four large, ten medium-sized and nine small enterprises. Promotion for kazzinc employees21-22 august the medical centers of KazZinc production facilities, an event called “Know Your Status” was organized by the East Kazakhstan Regional Center for AIDS Prevention and Control. The campaign was aimed at preventing and early detecting HIV infection. Employees were given the opportunity to get tested for HIV directly at their workplace, allowing many of them to learn their HIV status without interrupting their work duties. Ayalym Erkinovna , an epidemiologist in the prevention department, noted that identification of the infection cases wasn’t the main goal of the event, but to raise the employee’s awareness about HIV and the importance of regular testing. In today’s environment, where the infection can remain asymptomatic for a long time, timely testing becomes vital. Knowing one’s status allows the treatment to begin timely and prevents the further spread of the infection. According to company representatives, such initiatives are part of KazZinc’s broader health support program for employees. The company pays close attention to working conditions as well as to the physical health of its workers. Regular medical check-ups, informational campaigns, and access to professional healthcare are key elements of this program.The “Know Your Status” campaign was well-received by employees. Many people highlighted the convenience of being able to get tested without the need to visit medical facilities during their free time. Workers were also grateful for the care and attention to their health, emphasizing that it helps to create safe and comfortable working conditions. In this way, KazZinc demonstrates its commitment to the principles of corporate and social responsibility, emphasizing the importance of diseases prevention and early detection for people.
